Maeve Arden Photography
Maeve Arden is a self-initiated concept: a full website for an imaginary editorial wedding photographer based in the Lake District. I built it to show how a photography site can put the pictures first and still be quick, clear and easy to find.

- Built with
- Hand-coded HTML, CSS and JavaScript, hosted on GitHub Pages.
What I built
- A homepage led by the photographs: a large feature image with a preview chooser that swaps between three visual moods.
- A portfolio and a row of photographs that open in a viewer, so you can stay with a single image.
- Collections and an experience page that explain how the day is photographed, with a journal of short articles.
- A quiet editorial look: a serif display face with a clean sans for text, black and white photography and plenty of space.
- A responsive layout that works from a phone to a large desktop.
How SEO was handled
- Unique titles and descriptions on every page, with canonical tags.
- Website and page structured data, a sitemap and a robots file.
- Open Graph and Twitter cards for sharing.
- Self-hosted fonts, AVIF and WebP images with preloads, so the first photograph arrives fast.
This is a concept project, not a real photographer. The photographs are credited stock images and the collections and prices are placeholder content.
